Old Town bliss

Your adventure begins in the heart of Dubrovnik, the UNESCO World Heritage site that is the Old Town. Step into a world frozen in time as you wander through well-preserved medieval streets, alleys, and squares. The City Walls encompass the Old Town and provide a magnificent perspective of the city's architecture and coastline. You can take a leisurely walk along the walls, which stretch for over a mile and include several forts and lookout points.

The Pile Gate serves as one of the main entrances to the Old Town. Its drawbridge and stone bridge offer an impressive introduction to the city. Once inside, you'll find yourself transported to a world of history and culture.

Onofrio's Fountain is not just a practical water source; it's also a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture. The fountain's sixteen carved masks serve as a testament to the city's commitment to providing fresh water to its residents. The Rector's Palace, meanwhile, is a stunning example of Gothic and Renaissance architecture. This historic building, now a museum, offers a glimpse into Dubrovnik's rich history and government.

The Stradun, also known as Placa, is the central avenue of the Old Town. Lined with limestone buildings and shops, it's the perfect place to shop for local products, enjoy a coffee, or savor a meal while people-watching. Also worth admiring is the Dubrovnik Cathedral. Its ornate interior and treasury filled with religious artifacts make it a fascinating cultural stop. There’s even a priceless painting of the Assumption of the Virgin by the Italian master Titian.
