Welcome to Costa Rica! On arrival to San Jose, you’ll be met by an SA Representative and transfer to your hotel for an evening at leisure.
After breakfast, you’ll set out overland for approximately 2hrs before boarding a short boat ride onward to your all-inclusive Tortuguero lodge, where you’ll spend the next few days exploring the national park with a local guide. Tortuguero, which can be translated to the ‘Land of Turtles’, is a town surrounded by rivers and canals, situated on the Northern Caribbean coast of Costa Rica and nestled within the Tortuguero National Park, home to a large diversity of plants and fauna (such as manatees, monkeys, over 400 bird species, and even the jaguar!). After settling in and enjoying lunch, you might take advantage of an afternoon tour, such as an evening sea turtle nesting tour (seasonal) or a twilight canal boat ride.
You’ll enjoy a full day of exploration in the Tortuguero National Park with other lodge guests, selecting from a list of included excursions, such as bird watching, kayaking, local canal boat rides with wildlife viewing, canopy tours, and local fishing experiences.
Say goodbye to your lodge and the Tortuguero National Park as you are transferred to the local airport to board a short flight to La Fortuna, home to the iconic Arenal Volcano. On arrival, you’ll be transferred to your Arenal hotel where you’ll settle in for a relaxing evening at leisure.
