Conservation and the Great Inca Trail Treks

Travel That Gives Back

Community

The communities that reside in the destinations we visit are an integral part of our team. When you travel with SA, you can trust that you’re directly supporting the livelihoods and local economies of our destinations.

Conservation

Travel can be a positive, powerful force in protecting ecology and ways of life. By placing an economic value on vulnerable environmental and cultural heritage, you can promote conservation while also gaining meaningful experiences.

Awareness

SA Expeditions’ exploration initiatives build critical awareness to promote sustainable tourism development and put economic value on vulnerable natural and cultural heritage.

The Great Inca Trail

Beginning in 2016, our founder and chief explorer Nick Stanziano embarked on a quest. Walking for thousands of miles with a team of llamas across the Andes, he sought to revive the dormant spirit of the Qhapaq Ñan, also known as the Great Inca Trail. His efforts continue to bring awareness and promote the conservation of this forgotten jewel of the Inca Empire.

You can follow along the expeditions as they happened every day in the team's electronic travelogue below.
